Little Tidbits

Today is the first day of my second trimester...HALLELEUJIA!! Now, why do I still feel like crap? I'm just supposed to automatically feel great, right? Ya, that's what I thought.

Thanksgiving was very nice. I enjoyed having the time off to be home with the spouse and child. We celebrated Thursday at my parent's home. Lots of great food and laughs. The 2nd annual bake off took place and the men of the family amaze me every year with their *creations*. We had some type of chocolate pie, pecan pie, brown bag apple pie and angel food with fresh fruit and the most creative award went to my husband for his cake shaped like a turkey. It was all scrumptious.

We spent Thanksgiving with the in-laws on Saturday. I would say there were around 50 people there. Every year the number grows because someone has another kid. I guess next year will be my turn to add to the number. It's always a chaotic event because out of the number 50 around 20 are small kids. Enough said.

We put our tree up on Friday. :( The sad face is because it looks so pathetic. Only ornaments at the top of the tree because of the little munchkins wondering hands. I didn't put out anything else to decorate because I knew the nativities would be a lost cause. I'm envisioning Baby Jesus being smashed into one of the wise men. I guess I’ll get my pretty tree and pretty decor back out in about oh say 10 years?

It's 10:30 a.m

and i'm ready to go back to bed. I had to be at the hospital first thing this morning to have blood drawn. 200 viles later i feel faint not to mention it's a typhoon outside.

Things are looking up money wise though. I did some calling around yesterday and found lower insurance rates. Whooo!

Tis the Season...

For all the bills to hit at once. How can you feel the spirit of the holiday when you're faced with the following:

$700 Insurance Bill
Loan for car has matured

This is in advance to the monthly bills that come in. I guess i better start looking around the house for gifts to give this year for Christmas. I wonder if mom would like a never used Fry Daddy?

Do NOT turn put your Christmas decorations out until Thanksgiving is at least over! I'm not talking about stores but people's homes! I can't even begin to tell you how many houses are already decorated and lights are one at night. There needs to be a law about this. We can call it "Jumping the gun" law. I think 5-10 years behind bars would do these people some good. :)

I will be putting my tree up next Friday and i am more than excited about it. I love the holidays! I will throw on some Christmas music. Light a fire and try my best to keep the MB out of the ornaments!

I saw this spray painted on the overpass on my way home. Ahh...the future of America.

Why do women...

pick their teeth with toothpicks (in public) after they eat? That's just gross.

wear their cell phones on their side? That's just tacky. Are they waiting for a booty call?

Just some things i've noticed that i had to get off my chest.

Serenity in the Soup Aisle

While grocery shopping yesterday I found myself walking in a daze. As I reached the aisle with soup on it I found myself just standing there staring at the soup. 2-3 minutes pass and I'm still standing there. Why? It was quiet. I was by myself. MM wasn't talking and MB wasn't hollering "mama" "mama". The phone wasn't ringing. The t.v wasn't blaring. It was just me and soup. I'm thinking about going back today.

Getting old

You know, the one good thing about getting old is you can say whatever you want to people and not care. For instance, this weekend i had two old ladies, one being MM grandmother and another being a lady from church tell me i looked a lot farther along then i was. Um, thanks. Yes, i'm only 8 weeks but i look like i'm 4 months. So what! I felt better after reading my newsletter email this morning:

Did You Know?
Women who have already had a child have weaker abdominal muscles and ligaments than women who have not, and they usually begin to "show" far earlier. It's as though the belly says, "Oh, THIS again!" and flops and pops!
